Use short, familiar words

Incorrect:

1. Applicability range of the document.

2. Cigarette smoking is casually related1 to lung cancer in men; the magnitude of the effect2 of cigarette smoking far outweighs all other factors2. The data for women, though less extensive, point in the same direction. 3

Correct:

1. Audience.

2. Cigarette smoking is a major2 cause1 of lung cancer in men, and probably3 in

women, too. 3
