Use commas

• Between two or more consecutive adjectives*

  • the fast, powerful computer
  • the complicated, inefficient code
• Don’t use commas if first adjective modifies second adjective rather than noun
  • traditional political institutions
• Don’t use commas if adjectives refer to size or age
  • little old lady
  • large red-haired girl
  
  *Tip: If adding “and” between the adjectives makes sense, add commas
